Tim Christensen, superintendent of schools in Jefferson, was kind enough to pass along the following photos to us. They were taken this spring inside the Jefferson Middle School, formerly the Jefferson High School. These shots feature the band room, which you may remember was also used for vocal music classes. There are also a few very interesting photos he included which were taken in the basement, which was used as a basketball gymnasium many years ago. The basketball court markings are still prominent on the floor. Later, basketball activities were moved to the old armory (now the Elks Club Lodge). Still later, around 1950, the current gymnasium was constructed and basketball has been played there since.
