I'm
getting hopping mad listening to people telling me that today's divorce
rates are destroying family integrity and adding to society's moral
decay! Two different people told me that last week. Guess what? Neither
one has even tried it! That's right! As usual, the people who have the
big self-righteous opinion about it have never even been there! I'll
tell you what - ask divorced people if it is a good thing! You'll hear a
resounding "YES"!They say you shouldn't get divorced. There are religious considerations. They say you should stay together through anger and hatred and festering misery - just like God intended! I say it's better to have loved and lost than to have lived with that bitch the rest of my life! Divorce rates aren't even going up, anyway. They've been headed downward for the last 40 years or so.
You always hear "What about the kids?" Well, what about them? Kids should just be glad that you brought them here in the first place. It's none of their business what their folks do. Why let seven-year-olds make your marital decisions, anyway? All they care about is themselves! The ones getting the divorce are much more mature! Besides, kids are often the CAUSE of the divorce! Ever think of that? Seventy percent of divorces don't even involve kids anyway.
Look, only about 10% of the total population is divorced - does that sound like a BIG problem? No. Yours truly has been divorced, and it was quite refreshing. It actually caught me totally by surprise. I guess that's what happens when you don't come home for three years!
