City Council Approves Ad Revenue Plan Local residents may soon wake up to a Jefferson with a new look - if a recent revenue-generating plan is placed in effect. In an effort to raise much-needed revenue for the city, the town council last week tentatively approved a measure allowing city-owned structures to raise revenue via the sale of advertising space. Certain privately-held properties would also be allowed to follow suit. It is thought that thousands of dollars can be collected annually by either selling ad space, or, possibly even renaming local venues after their advertising sponsors. Following their weekly meeting, the council released a series of photos demonstrating possible ad revenue-generating locales.
