City Council Approves Ad Revenue Plan
Local
residents may soon wake up to a Jefferson with a new look - if a recent
revenue-generating plan is placed in effect. In an effort to raise
much-needed revenue for the city, the town council last week tentatively
approved a measure allowing city-owned structures to raise revenue via
the sale of advertising space. Certain privately-held properties would
also be allowed to follow suit. It is thought that thousands of dollars
can be collected annually by either selling ad space, or, possibly even
renaming local venues after their advertising sponsors.
