Recent Updates and Corrections Retraction: In the September 30 issue, we reported that the Linduska Field visitors' bleachers collapsed during the fourth quarter of the game against Southern Cal, killing 28 women and children instantly. What we should have stated was that during the fourth quarter of the Southern Cal game, the Ram defense collapsed, allowing 28 points and leading to the eventual defeat. Apologies where needed. Editor's Note: In an August 4th story, it was mistakenly reported to Jefferson Iowa News that a crazed gunman had held up the Ben Franklin store, holding seven employees hostage, while mortally wounding two others. What should have been reported, rather, was that Ben Franklin was holding a seven day sale, with two-for-one items throughout the store. Our apologies are hereby extended to the families of those identified as victims. |
