Jefferson Purchases Great Pyramids![]() For an undisclosed sum, the city of Jefferson was able to purchase these wonders, and city leaders announced last Thursday that they are now completely refabricated and open for tourists. Although they are not expected to draw as many visitors as the already established Mahanay Tower, the Greene County Chamber of Commerce still hopes to eventually recoup the cost of transporting and rebuilding these behemoths. That cost has been estimated at about $412 billion dollars. Those hoping to catch a glimpse of the pyramids will be happy to hear that an additional $75,000 has been appropriated for signage which will aid you in locating these structures. Maps are also available at the Greene County Courthouse and Chamber of Commerce. The Great Pyramids will be open to tourists between Memorial Day and Labor Day (excluding July 4 and the Bell Tower Festival weekend). Hours are from 1PM - 5PM Tuesday through Friday, and 1PM - 6PM every other Saturday. Additional visits can be arranged by contacting Ned Ferdly at his home in rural Franklin Township.
